YES... there are MENSANS lurking here in the Southern Tier of New York. People who fit the lofty definitions above are living right next to you. You may see us mowing our lawns or shopping at the local super market, as we try to blend into the general population seamlessly and go about our business undetected. but sometimes you may notice that we are slightly goofier than your other neighbors and friends. Mensa is open to persons who have attained a score within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that has been properly administered and supervised. That is the SOLE REQUIREMENT for membership and we would love to have you join us and our fellow Mensa members located in more than 100 countries around the world.
Membership in Mensa, the International high IQ society and our local Group, Mensa of the Southern Tier (MOST) provides a forum for intellectual exchange among its members. Activities include the exchange of ideas through lectures, discussions, journals, special-interest groups, and local, regional, national and international gatherings; the investigations of members' opinions and attitudes; and assistance to researchers, inside and outside Mensa, in projects dealing with intelligence or Mensa.
